As Church Juice continues to grow, one of the things we’re getting to do more and more is being a part of educational workshops.  We love being out and about while having conversations with churches who are excited about revamping their communications.  So, there are a couple of events coming up I want to let you know about.

Ideas Camp 2011

The Crosspoint Strategic Network and Christian Reformed Home Missions are sponsoring a series of workshops called Ideas Camp.  The second stop will be here in our offices.  We’ll be presenting Your Church Online.  I’ll be joined by Tood Hertz who’s the Social Media Manager for ReFrame Media.  We’ll look at website strategies from design to content creation.  Plus we'll talk about using social media as a way to enhance your ministry online.

There was a question about group texting.  Here's a link with some advice from Tim Schraeder about texting.  There are a couple of companies we know people have used: Jarbyco and EZtexting.com.

Someone also asked if there was a website where you could enter your church website URL and see how it looks on various mobile phones.  Our web guy pointed us to some emulators, but it's fairly labor intensive to install all these programs.  He says, "Emulators are not perfect. The best way to test mobile sites is to actually borrow phones and devices."

Church Juice Church Communications Workshop

We’re hosting our first daylong event this Spring.  We’re still a little flexible in what the actual workshop titles will be because we want to get feedback from those who RSVP on their interests.  But in general, we’ll be talking about web strategies, social media best practices, how to effectively use screens in worship and branding.
