Presentation from the Volunteers in Service Leadership Training Event 2010
Posted October 01st 2010 @ 2:54 pm by JerodThanks to everyone who came to the two workshop sessions I led last night at the Volunteers in Service Leadership Training Event. I really enjoyed the questions, conversations and heart for ministry you all have.
Here's the slide show I used, although it may seem a little random considering I don't really have notes to accompany it. I just talked. So if you're looking for more detail on each of the topics, download our resource "Website 101: Seven Basics Vital to a Good Site" becasue the presentation is based on that.
You'll see a blank black slide in the presentation where this welcome video from The Chapel goes. Overall, I'm a big fan of welcome videos for visitors if you have the people to do it. I particularly like this video because it starts in the parking lot and takes you though the church. You get to see people in action as well as hear about the core values of the church. Good stuff. If you don't do video at your church, maybe you can accomplish the same thing using pictures with captions.
There were several questions about template websites. Here are a few links:
Another question came up about finding out who owns certain domain names. Here's the link to WhoIs.
Finally, there were a couple of questions about search engine optimization. Here are two links that might be helpful:
